Operations Systems Support Manager

Reporting To: Sr. Director, Infrastructure Engineering

Location: Bethesda, MD

Prematics is searching for an OSS Manager.

Essential Job Functions

• Selects, designs and implements network and systems monitoring solutions
• Leads the effort to implement management systems integration and reporting tools
• Interfaces with operations, development and engineering
• Provides support and training of the tools developed
• Manages a small team of developers, engineers or consultants

Required Expertise

• Experienced working with hosting vendors
• Recent hands-on experience using OSS tools
• Recent experience selecting or developing monitoring solutions
• Experience with Sybase/iAnywhere Afaria (desired)
• Experience with Nagios (desired)
• Experience with SNMP-based management tools
• Experience with security tools and appliances (firewalls, IDS, etc.)

Skills and Experience

• Mid/Sr-level professional
• Should be able to work unsupervised
• Self and quick learner
• Comfortable working alone or as part of a team
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• 8+ years experience
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
