Quality Assurance Engineer

Prematics is an exciting young player in electronic healthcare that is creating an easy-to-use, managed electronic prescribing service designed for physicians. The reliability and highly secure service are essential for physicians at the point-of-care to prescribe the most clinically appropriate and cost effective prescription either using mobile devices or the web. The QA Engineer position is a critical role in ensuring that the product will service the public in a safe and effective manner.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for the development, execution, automation, defect analysis, and documentation of verification and regression tests. This person should have experience with complex systems with real-time constraints. Ideally, this person would be a software engineer with a background in IT, systems design and verification.

This person should be familiar with both user interface and database validation. This person must work independently and be able to organize and plan their work. Tenacity and attention to detail are a must.

This full-time position calls for a candidate with Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 7 years of general experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Essential Job Functions
  • Create test plans in collaboration with systems engineering requirements and design process;
  • Execute and debug automated test framework;
  • Execute tests and report defects;
  • Perform feature, functionality, configuration, compatibility, installability, recovery and reliability testing in a complex systems environment;
  • Ability to data validate from the database’s entry point to the accuracy of the information displayed;
  • Assist in the design and implementation of the various data driven tests and varying network topologies in the test lab;
  • Provide test coverage analysis.
  
  
• Required Expertise
  • Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience
  • Test experience for complex systems with real-time constraints
  • Experience testing GUIs and databases
  • Strong practical knowledge of a relational database, stored procedures, and SQL queries (i.e., Oracle)
  • Knowledge of different test types including regression, functional, performance, and stability tests
  • Testing Server-Client configurations.
    • Web-based applications and related testing
    • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux
    • Desired: PocketPC 2003/Windows Mobile 5 (Pam desired as well)
    • Desired: Microsoft.Net and Net CF
