S. Michael Ross

Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President, Business Development

S. Michael Ross, M.D., MHA is responsible for working with the company's health care enterprise clients, helping them redefine how they communicate with providers and members by leveraging Prematics' e-prescribing platform as a point of care communication portal.

Ross is a veteran of the health care and health information technology industries. He possesses over 25 years of experience, serving in a variety of roles spanning clinical care, executive leadership of managed care organizations and integrated delivery systems, and outcomes research.

Prior to joining Prematics, Ross served as the vice president of health care at Varolii Corp., where he helped health care organizations leverage the power of automation through proactive bidirectional patient message delivery. He also served as vice president of strategic business at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and as chief executive officer of Advanced Concepts Institute, a USP research group focused on the adoption of health information technology and its impact.

Ross's other health care experience includes serving as senior vice president and chief medical officer of HealthOnline, a health care e-commerce and information service. Previously, he was a founder and principal of Holisticos, an organization focused on developing products designed to allow the safe synthesis of select high-quality complementary and alternative medicine services with conventional care.

A pediatrician by training, Ross managed one of the most successful pediatric practices in Washington, D.C., and for three years was named one of the Top Doctors of Washington in peer reviews for Washingtonian magazine. After leaving clinical practice, he served as vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at MetLife HealthCare Network of South Florida Inc., where he managed a 4,000-member provider organization with more than 100,000 covered lives. He also served as executive director of Scottish Rite Pediatric Partners, a full-service MSO that provides practice management services to more than 100 pediatricians associated with the Scottish Rite Children s Medical Center in Atlanta.

Ross received his Bachelor of Science and medical degrees from George Washington University, and his Masters in Healthcare Administration from the Medical College of Virginia. He received his certification by the American Board of Pediatrics.
